As of February 23rd,
the Revivals Thrift Store
and Resale Mart in Desert
Hot Springs will be closing
its doors. As the result
of conflicts between the
store management and
the landlord, they have
decided to cease operations.
“We cannot afford
to stay,” said General
Manager Mike Scarf.
“And our space is not
efficient.”
What that means
is that since the
original lease expired
back in December
of 2006,
Revivals agreed
to stay if the
landlord agreed
to the store making
an expansion.
“We need
about 7-10,000
square feet to operate
properly,” said
Scarf. “3,000 square
feet is not efficient
enough.” Since the
landlord failed to submit
paperwork to the
city, the company decided
not to continue
leasing the building any
longer.
“I think the landlord
didn’t want us to expand,”
Scarf continued.
