Downtown Councilman Betts once again
fixed the official city clock to tell the correct
time. Time to get a haircut. Time to go to a
Council member Russell Betts and Ted Mayrhoven
meeting. Time to clean up those storefronts
downtown.
Will Playoffs Sports Bar expand double its
size? Will live music be returning to downtown?
Will Herb Caen’s three-dot journalism
succeed in DHS? The Hole knows but isn’t
telling.
On the edge of town, near my hole…
Taxpayers and Homeowners for the MSHCP
sounds anathematic… but it’s true. Watch out
Matt Weyuker… it’s rightly so. Isn’t it amazing
that first Constitutional amendment?
Who woulda thunk? Councilman Scott
Matas sold his liquor license. The Firerock
Tavern will become a gay bar. Well, la de
dah!
Something not so fabulous… Revivals
Thrift Store is leaving town. A dispute with
the property owner resulted in the lease not
being renewed.

What? Planning Commissioner King
and long-time Republican activist Dean
Gray spotted at Palm Springs Lincoln Club
luncheon in Walt Disney Hall at Smoketree
Ranch. King, a firearms enthusiast, was impressed
by guest speaker, Riverside County
Sheriff Sniff, a quick draw champ.
How soon wasabi? Construction of the
Sushi Restaurant on the ground floor of the
Hotel Shilla seems to have it a snag. Plenty
dirt piled outside but no construction progress.

said tea-totaling Ted.
Recent big rains grew a grass carpet on flat
desert sands and foothills. Jack worries for
summer proving a tinderbox when everything
dries out. Can we count on summer volunteers
to save poor Mr. Rabbit’s Hole?
