It’s 1964 all over again
in Palm Springs as Come
Together, a Beatles tribute
band shakes up the excitement
of the good old British
Invasion days at a special
show Tuesday night. Come
Together came to perform at
Come Together:
Beatlemania
Tribute Brings
Palm Springs High School
Auditorium to benefit the
school’s band.
The band portrays the Beatles
from 1964-1966, which
were their touring years.
“Come Together” recreates
the early Beatles concerts
with identical costumes
and equipment. They play
songs from “I Want to Hold
Your Hand” to “I’m Down”
played with Vox amps and
Rickenbacker guitars made
famous by the Beatles. The
band consists of James
Willaman as George Harrison,
Russ Saylor as Paul
McCartney, Stephen Marks
as Ringo Starr and Bill
Kropinak as John Lennon.
Songs they also performed
during this act also included
“Ticket To Ride”, “Help”
and “Yesterday”.
“I’ve seen many Beatles
tribute bands and I must
to Palm Springs
say that this band comes in
close,” said Stephen Phillips,
a Coachella Valley
resident originally born in
England. He and his girlfriend
came to see the show
and were quite excited, singing
along to every song that
was played.
